I promised photos of the mirror, and here they are! Please pretend that my hideous lilac walls are some other colour. (I do this all the time.) The mirror doesn’t match, but then nothing in my bedroom does… however, it’s easier to store it on the wall than anywhere else.
Recently I found out about Oxfam’s giant baby blanket campaign, and I’ve been knitting some squares to send off. You can read more about it here and here (Ravelry group here). It seems really worthwhile, and I hope they make their target of 250 000 squares. (I do not, admittedly, envy the task of the people sewing them together!)
I’m really looking forward to Kim Hargreaves’ new summer collection, “Nectar”. Looks like it’ll be released soon!

I think the ‘hideous’ lilac walls are lovely – certainly better than the off white of my room! And I also have a gorgeous ornate mirror that matches nothing in my room but that I adore too much to take off the wall :)
@Ellie –
I would kill for off-white! Would you like to trade? :) (I’d love to see your mirror sometime – I really love ornate frames.)
@Debbie –
Thanks, Debbie – I think the colour itself isn’t too bad, but when paired with a ratty beige carpet it starts to take on a putrid hue… It might be that I’ve been staring at it for too long, of course! :)
Oh, I like the color of your walls. Very cool and calming.
Ho this mirror is beautiful! Makes me remind of this in the bedroom of my grandma, an old one. Really pretty, just need candles!
The lilac is not so horrible! It’s pretty!
I just bought a really cool shadow box lamp that was made out of recycled material. They used a laundry detergent bottle to cut out different colored swallows. The birds reminded me of your blog. :)
First time reader, first time commenter,
Freaky thing is, I have the same colour on my bedroom walls! I too long for the normal rental (non)colour of off-white. The owners of my house also saw fit to get venitian blinds in the same purple colour, its like being in an all lilac…um, room. yeah.
Anyway, LOVE the mirror, WANT a chaise lounge (and a long lace gown to lounge on it in, oh and also your hair….not in a creepy way) ADORE the blog.
