I went to Hampton court last year and was in awe of the feel of the building, it feels as if there's just a thin line between now and then. Just as if you squeezed with your eyes, you'd see 16th century people walk by.
The gardens are as beautifull, although I went in October, so all the flowers were put inside the orangerie.
Really bummed I missed the exhibition on the clothing btw! Pretty pictures.

I think it would be so fascinating to see everything you just described. I've always been interested in European history and culture - from the architecture and fashions, to the social classes and all the details that made up daily life. About two weeks ago I watched The Other Boleyn Girl, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and Marie Antoinette.

Hampton Court looks so grand and so utterly English. I'm a great fan of the Tudor period and Gregory's books are very readable. I love the clothing too, square necklines and those great big fur sleeves and French hoods, nothing like the 1530s for impressive dressing.

Wow! That is so gorgeous! I envy you being able to see it. I've never read any of Phillipa's books, but now I just might!
